Non-Perishable Food and Unwrapped Toy Donations Will Benefit Local Charities.

Arlington Heights, IL (November 17, 2017) – Paragon Theaters, the movie theater chain known for supporting their local communities, is inviting families to enjoy a free movie with Arlington Heights Mayor Tom Hayes. The free, charitable “Movie with the Mayor” event will take place at the Paragon Arlington Heights movie theater on Saturday, December 9th, kicking off with holiday festivities at 9:00 am. Two holiday themed movies – How the Grinch Stole Christmas (Rated PG) and Home Alone (Rated PG) – will start at 10:00 am, and all guests with a non-perishable food donation will receive free admission. Cub Scouts from Pack 129 will be on hand to collect the donations, which will benefit the Wheeling Township Food Pantry.

In addition, Paragon Arlington Heights is offering a Free Large Popcorn for each new unwrapped toy donation to support Toys for Tots (please no stuffed animals). The Northwest Suburban Marine Corps League will be on hand to collect those donations. Rolling Meadows Madrigal Singers will perform some holiday songs prior to the movies.

“We are excited to, once again, be able to take part in this Community Event that has a long tradition in the Arlington Heights area. Last year was a great success and we have been looking forward to this year’s event ever since.” Says Bob Thompson, General Manager of the theater. “We feel that it is very important to have an opportunity during this time of year for all members of our community to gather together in one place and celebrate the season with an entertainment experience that is second to none, and we are proud to be able to be part of that experience for the second year in a row.”

To stay current on upcoming movies, promotions, and specials, Paragon Arlington Heights encourages guests to download the app from new parent Company CMX Cinemas (purchasing tickets through the app allows guests to receive a free popcorn from the concession stand), visit the website at, and to like their Paragon Arlington Heights Facebook page.
